Gary Cook's summary

Overview
Herefish is a thin automation layer that sits alongside/over the end to end hiring process. It provides trigger based automation/communication/outreach, dynamic content, and data capture. The product integrates with a customers HR technology stack/ATS and delivers a seamless handover between systems when HereFish is triggered. Data is read from and posted back to the host system, ensuring data integrity.
Pro's
  • Highly configurable outreach tool.
  • Multiple trigger points, engine allows for complex workflow automation.
  • Visibility and reporting of status down to the individual message level.
  • Covers the entire recruitment lifecycle - can be used for pre/post hire. Theoretically could be used for many other purposes.
  • Create targetted outreach using content library.
  • Data capture element allows for simple surveys/feedback/NPS collection.
  • Powerful analytics and reporting capability.
Con's
  • Requires 1 Herefish instance per client. We would potentially have dozens of integrations with Avature, which would be messy/expensive/time consuming to run and maintain, especially with a growing customer base. For client ATS's, it would require clients permission to integrate ( who pays for this project? ).
  • PII data is copied to Herefish servers, this raises huge infosec concerns from clients, especially as EU hosted data would be transmitted and stored in the US. Not insurmountable, but adds a heavy layer of complexity to any project.
  • 95% of the functionality presented is already available in Avature, we would be paying for functionality we already have.
Recommendations
Let's get Avature up and running. Michelle and I are both of the opinion that Avature can easily match or better the outreach automation capability of HereFish.
Once Avature is live, if we still feel that there is a feature gap, proceed to trial with HereFish, but understand the limitations around the 1 client/1 instance cost, and the data security implications.
