myGwork

This tool has solely been researched by the WilsonHCG Innovation team.

Summary

Gives access to a website and other publication options (print magazines, for example), to promote news and roles in regards to Diversity Hiring (LGBT in particular). The service doubles a a promotional tool/platform & information resource for applicants. Also serves as a company review site for applicants or employees on the site.

Demo Notes:

  • A location for companies to post roles and share news surrounding diversity (specifically LGBT) in employment opportunities

    • Content doesn’t have to be LGBT focused, but career focused in general

    • A mix between promotional campaigns for diverse hiring & company review site

  • Similar to Glassdoor, people can leave ratings and reviews on their experience with employers

  • Post about mentoring, job fairs, mentoring, etc.

  • Integrates your current jobs (all, not one-off) through ATS integration or job-scraping

  • Partnered with 5 global magazines

  • Members are roughly 20% graduates, with more experienced professionals as well

  • Pricing depends on “reach” goals (how far you want exposure to go), but all levels include unlimited postings for content and jobs on the website

    • Higher levels include things like articles in Diversity publications

Questions:

  • Do we do our own posting or does myGwork do it for us?

    • You have a posting contact who works with you for posting

  • Can we set up client accounts through us or would we forward them to you?

    • Either, and we can adjust the pricing based on number of clients you refer to us (or percentage of the fee)

Demo Reflections:

  • Offered information on their pricing, with a hint that we could reduce our rates by recommending our clients to have their own profiles set up. It felt like more of a service where we'd recommend them to the client but not facilitate anything ourselves (more like a referral than a hub function)

  • As far as industries they work well with, not really any specific ones. The nature of the service is that it's primarily a resource for the job seeker, since there are no standard industries for LGBT people to work in. I think you could make an argument that using this service would be a good place to start for organizations that are either visibility neutral on LGBT hiring or have a reputation for being less friendly to that demographic and would be seeking to course-correct

  • One thing that I get a sense for, and would highlight in a discussion on potential client applications for this service, is that I think it would only be effective if it's for an organization that is taking its LGBT diversity hiring very seriously. Most companies will say they're taking it seriously, but I think that this service provides a platform that would have a very opposite effect in situations where the organization is only interested in half-measures
